From Humble Beginnings

AMBER CARS, the largest Private Hire Company in Leeds, first opened an office in Headingley in a basement / cellar next door to the Cottage Road Cinema in March 1987.

We had the sum total of 3 employees in the early days and within 6 months this had increased to 20.

By 1990 we opened our Armley office in a small garage at Whingate, eventually moving to our present more luxurious offices in the busy Town Street area of Armley.

Our growth has steadily continued, incorporating three smaller Private Hire companies along the way, then taking on board XPRESSAIR in 1992.

Currently Amber Cars has over 400 drivers covering the whole of Leeds and we field some 2,000,000 plus calls per year from our purpose built 7,000 sqft offices 24 hours a day.

Customer Commitment Program All our members pride themselves in being associated with a respected company. In order to maintain our high standards, we operate an Internal Discipline procedure as well as a driver dress code. In addition we have a designated Customer Service Department to help with any queries you may have.
